It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to hold in Zaragoza the 18th Annual meeting of the European Section of the Institute for Liquid Atomization and Spray System organised by the Laboratorio de Investigación en Técnicas en Combustión (LITEC). LITEC is one of the most active research Institutes in Aragon widely recognised by its experience and expert knowledge on Combustion. It has been a good choice to make it responsible of the organisation of this year ILASS-Europe meeting.

It is not easy to find a scientific and technical field as this, needing of such a wide multidisciplinary approach, with so many applicative uses and providing knowledge for industrial optimisations. This conference together with those of Seoul (Korea) and Keio (Japan) mean the ILASS events of this year. Therefore, the discussions and conclusions obtained will surely be of relevance on the future of this field.

As representatives of the Government of Aragon, one of LITEC supporting Institution, our best wishes of success for the Conference.
